Our radiologists have more than 30 years experience each in their respective fields. They are Board Certified in Diagnostic, Musculoskeletal and Neuro-Radiology.
GE, Seimens and Philips "Ultra" Short Bore MRI machines are our favorite machines for quality of images and patient comfort with average scan times being less than 20 minutes
GE HighSpeed Multislice Spiral CT Scannners can take from 16-64 images at once. As small as 1mm which is the size of a grain of rice or a sharpened pencil lead. All with minimal radiation exposure an scan times sub 5 minutes and less.
Full Body Scans was our favorite preventive medicine service. We were one of the first centers in South Florida to perform these scans with CT scanners. Now they can even be performed with MRI machines as well.
GE and Hitachi MRI machines are the leaders in this segment. Basically the MRI is like a hamburger bun with a magnet on top and one below and the sides are open or Wide. Because these magnets are not as strong as the High Field machines the scan time is closer to 35 minutes for quality images.
GE, Hologic and others make these machines. These are easier for the radiologist to use, but you still need a breast specialist on staff to read them as they are very difficult to read. Also make sure the center is ACR accredited for Mammography. This will insure quality images.
Nowadays must Xray machines are digital. This allows for instant results and minimal radiation due to less re-takes.
